Restrictions on working under the visa-free regime – draft regulation published
On 27 March 2026, a draft regulation was published on the RCL website concerning countries whose citizens holding a work permit are not entitled to work whilst staying in Poland under the visa-free regime.
Under the draft, citizens of Colombia, Venezuela and Georgia will not be entitled to work in Poland whilst staying under the visa-free regime even if they hold a valid work permit. In practice, this means they will have to obtain the relevant document legalising their stay (as we have already reported on our website).
The draft also includes a significant transitional provision, under which citizens of the aforementioned countries who have started (or will start) work in Poland during a visa-free stay before the proposed regulation comes into force, will be able to continue their employment under the existing rules.
