Parliament simplifies applications for a care allowance – digitisation for contribution payers
On 13 February, the Sejm passed an amendment to the Act on cash benefits from social insurance in the event of sickness or maternity (document no. 2122). It simplifies the procedure for applying for a care allowance.
The amendment will enable contribution payers and accounting offices to submit applications to the Social Insurance Institution („ZUS”) in electronic form. To date, apllications hyad to be submitted in writing, or electronically that had a qualified electronic signature or a trusted signature.
The change is intended to simplify procedures and hasten the processing of obtaining benefits. The bill will now go to the Senate and will come into force three months after it is published in the Journal of Laws.
