Median pay lower than average pay – data from the Central Statistical Office
On 4 March, the Central Statistical Office published a communiqué on the distribution of pay in the national economy in September 2025. The data shows that the median gross monthly pay in September 2025 was PLN 7,145.33, while the average gross monthly pay was PLN 8,649.13 – a difference of approximately 17%.
At the same time, the Central Statistical Office indicated that the average gross monthly pay in September 2025 fell by 2% in nominal terms compared to August 2025, while in year-on-year terms it increased by 7.1%. In the same period, the median pay decreased nominally by 1.8% compared to the previous month, and increased by 6.9% compared to September 2024.
