Application for the so-called CUKR residence card can now be submitted
From 4 May 2026, applications can be submitted for a residence card marked ‘former holder of temporary protection’ (the so-called CUKR residence card).
Applications can only be submitted online via the new MOS 2.0 portal, which was launched a week earlier. To use the system, you must have a Trusted Profile.
You may obtain a CUKR residence card if you meet all of the following conditions:
- Hold UKR status on the date of submitting the application for a CUKR residence card;
- Held UKR status on 4 June 2025 (the new date, which, following an amendment to the special Ukrainian law, replaced 4 March 2024);
- Hold UKR status continuously for at least 365 days.
Before submitting your application, you can check on the MOS portal whether the administrative registers contain all the required data. If any information is missing (e.g. a scan of a valid passport or fingerprints), the system will indicate the need to complete it at the office.
The procedure should take up to 180 days from the application date. Obtaining a CUKR card converts your UKR status into a three-year temporary residence permit. This provides full access to the labour market and allows you to conduct business on the same terms as Polish citizens.
